A simple elegant courthouse elopement in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma. To begin this day we started at the Tulsa County courthouse to get Loren and Scott officially married. Their officiant, Weddings by Alexis, did an incredible job keeping this ceremony unique to the couple. She highlighted attributes of their relationship that made the day so special. They decided to keep this ceremony intimate – which I loved. Despite being downtown, the Tulsa County courthouse gave their ceremony a modern feel with touches of earthy tones.
We decided to take full advantage of being in front of the courthouse and did part of Loren and Scott’s portraits there. I focused on their fun relationship and allowed them to just be themselves together during their portraits. Once we finished up at the courthouse we headed over to the historical Mayo Hotel to take some creative flash portraits. The couple planned to stay the night at the Mayo Hotel before leaving for their honeymoon the next morning, so it was very important to them to have a few portraits around the Mayo Hotel.
We finished up this courthouse elopement in Tulsa, Oklahoma by exploring downtown and taking portraits at several different locations. I focused on locations that were modern and classic. I wanted the locations to emphasize the couple and have a simple background so that their unique personality could shine. Loren and Scott have an outgoing and fun relationship, so I really focused on prompts that would bring out their laughter and joy. We stayed relatively close to the Mayo and lucked out with some stunning locations! I loved getting to be a part of this sweet day.
